Happy 9 month Birthday Parker!
Parker turned 9 months old last Saturday. It is hard to believe that he is already 9 months old! We had his check-up last Wednesday and his is doing great. He now weighs 22.4 lbs (75th percentile), 28 1/2 inches tall (50th percentile), and his head of course is in the 90th percentile. He is also learning something new every day. He can now crawl everywhere, pull himself to standing, and he occasionally will walk around the furniture. He has found the step up to the landing by our front door and he goes up and down, up and down. He still loves books and will laugh out loud when you read to him. He has graduated from pured food, and now mostly feeds himself small pieces of our meals. He is just perfect!
We traveled to Wisconsin last weekend to celebrate my Grandma Jo's 75th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!!! Kiara has all the pictures from her party so I will have to post those later. Once we landed in Wisconsin our first stop was a gas station off the interstate where we met my Dad and shared some cheese curds and Hamms. Gotta love Wisconsin!!

Another Ear Infection :(
We had a very long night last night. Parker was up the first time at 10pm and stayed up till about 11. He wasn't really fussy, just didn't want to sleep. After a bottle of chamomile tea he went back down by 11, only to be up again from 3am on. He was not so happy this time around. He screamed, and screamed, and pulled on his ear, and screamed some more. He didn't want to rock, walk, sleep, play, or eat. He wanted to scream. By 5 we knew we were going to spend the morning at Urgent Care, but they didn't open till 9. To kill some time, and to try to get PJ to sleep, my Mom came over and we all walked to the coffee shop. He wasn't thrilled but didn't fuss to much until we got home, then he had enough. We ended up parking in the Urgent Care parking lot at 8am and waited for them to open. Sure enough, ear infection. Parker ended up falling asleep as we waited to be discharged and stayed asleep when we put him in the carseat, so we spent 1 1/2 hrs driving around running errands and letting him sleep in the truck. He was much happier when he woke up, and after some Tylenal and antibiotics, he is back down for a nap (snoring away).
On a happier note, we had PJ's first swimming lesson this week. He did really well and enjoyed most of it. He is not a fan of floating on his back, not even in the tub. He did well jumping (falling) into the pool, kicking his legs, grabbing rings on the stairs, and he is working on blowing bubbles under water. We have 9 lessons left to use in the next 6 months. I am planning on taking him every 2 to 3 weeks through out the winter so that he stays comfortable in the water, and so we have some fun Mommy and Parker time.

Another wonderful weekend!
Happy 1st Birthday Taylor Grace!
Mean Auntie Kiara made Parker very Mad!
We went to the Desert Museum for a Summer Night program this weekend. It was beautiful to watch the sunset in the mountians. There was a centipede and a skunk wandering around by themselves, but the other animals stayed in their place. It was a little scarry walking around the trails in the dark and seeing the bats fly by.

Happy Birthday Zane!!
This is a weekend of Birthdays and Celebrations!!
Matt's sister gave birth to a baby boy named Zane Michael today. He was 7 lbs 10 oz and 19 inches long. Congratulations Julie, Mike & Maddox... We can't wait to meet the newest addition!!
We went to a birthday party for my friends 2 year old girl. The girls were fairy's and he boys were pirates.
Another fun note... Parker can crawl!!! He can go forward and crawl all across the room. He is also beginning to pull himself up on things. We had a very difficult time in the bath tonight. He wanted everything on the side of the tub and would keep trying to pull himself up on the sides to get it. I will hopefully get a movie of him crawling this week and post it.Have a wonderful week!!!

The Gilby Men Can't Hang
As I said, Mexico was fun... But the aftermath is not!!!
Matt got a bit of sun poisoning and spent the last part of vacation sleeping. He went to bed at 7 pm on Saturday night and is still suffering today.
Parker did fine in Mexico but we have had some problems since we got home. I know Parker woke up a few times on Saturday night, but we didn't have a clock in our room so I don't know how many times or what time it was. On Sunday, Parker went to bed around 7:30 like he normally does, but he work up at 10:45pm and was up and down for the rest of the night. I figured it was teething but stayed home to make sure, and try to get a little sleep. He was a little crabby on Monday but nothing drastic. Monday night we started our bedtime routine around 7:15 like normal and everything was fine until it was time for Parker to lay down in his crib. He started crying and didn't stop. I tried to let him cry it out, but he didn't fall asleep. He would go to sleep if I rocked him, which is the opposite of how he normally is, but would wake up as soon as I put him down.
I felt a little silly taking him to the Dr today, thinking they would say it was teething, or growing, but turns out he has an ear infection. Poor Baby!! He has had a snotty nose the past few weeks, but I didn't think anything of it. Now I feel horrible!!! We picked up some antibiotics and hopefully this will clear up both his ear and his nose... and maybe (cross your fingers) Parker will sleep better too!!!!
Well, here is to hopeing both my boys feel better !!

Un viaje bueno a México
Here are some pictures from this weekend. We had a blast in Rocky Point with the Falcones. It was a quick trip, we left Friday after work and got home yesterday afternoon. It's just over 200 miles so close enough for a weekend but still a drive. Parker is a trooper as always. We tried to keep him awake so he would nap on the drive down, but that backfired. He was so tired he didn't want to sleep. It took 100 miles, but sleep won in the end and we made it to Mexico safe and sound. We spent Saturday at the beachfront pool of the condo owned by Anthony's Dad and Uncle. We spent a good 5 hours either in the pool or the ocean. Parker loved the pool and the sand. He still isn't a fan of being in the waves, but he enjoyed sitting on the shore and having the tide come around his feet. He also enjoyed eating the sand! We set up a pack n' play under an umbrella and PJ took his nap poolside while we stayed and played. It was funny watching the security guards and other pool goers walk by this baby sleeping next to the pool all by himself. They would look at PJ a little shocked and then look around trying to find his parents. We didn't go far, we just stayed in the pool which was in eye and earshot. We called it a day early, but not early enough. Matt must have gotten a little sun poisoning. He looks like a lobster and hasn't felt well the past few days. Hopefully that goes away quickly. We planned our return trip around Parker's naptime, and it worked perfectly. PJ slept most of the way home and we made it home by 2:30 in the afternoon.
After unpacking, we headed out and bought Parker his big boy carseats. He has gotten big enough that he outweighs his infant carseat, and the straps are starting to leave marks on his neck. I can't belive my baby is so big already!! He is almost 8 months old!!!
Parker can't crawl yet, but he is a champ at scooting backwards and getting stuck.
(If you look close you can see his tooth here too)
Parker' pre-pool nap
Parker's poolside nap.
This is Adrian's old playpen and he wanted to crawl in and join Parker.
