Parker now scoots all over his crib at night. He loves to have any type of blanket or clothes in his mouth. This is the blanket Auntie Kiara had made for him. It's his favorite bedtime blanket since it is so soft.

I must be dreaming....
My husband is out, my son is sleeping, the house is clean (enough).... and it's only 8:30pm on a Saturday night. I actually have time to relax, it's amazing!! I get to lay on the couch and read a book, a real book, not even a text book. I don't remember the last time I read a book. Life is good!!!!!

Camping
Parker had is 6 month appointment yesterday and he is still perfect. He has not grown any taller, still 25 1/2 inches, but he is now 19 lbs. He is in the 75th percentile for both height and weight. The Dr. said he is doing wonderfully with his health and development.
We had our first camping trip this weekend and it was so much fun. We drove north to Prescott for our "tester" trip. Prescott is 3 1/2 hours away so it was a good experiance to see how he is traveling, and how he handled the outdoors. He did wonderfully with both!! He absolutely loved to be outside. Even with the long car trip on both Saturday and Sunday, he slept in the car and still stayed on schedule for his afternoon naps and his bedtime. He didn't mind sleeping in his pack n' play, being in a tent, the cold, or the socks I put on his hands. This was a wonderful experiance, we are very excited for our next trip to Lyman lake at the end of July.

Can it be?? Really, 6 months old!!
My Angel is going to be 6 months old in a few short hours. I cannot believe how quickly the time has passed. Parker is really the light of our lives. We have never known a love as deep as we feel for him. He has given our lives a purpose, and our hearts so much joy. I know I am a sap, but I probably cry at least every other day when I see how big he has gotten and all the new things he can do. I thank God everyday for giving him to us. Here are a few pictures from his first couple of weeks on earth. Just a glimpse at how far he has come.
He has his 6 mos appointment on Monday and I will update with his new stats and some new pictures from the weekend. We are taking Parker on his first camping trip this weekend. We are going to camp at Lynx Lake in Prescott, AZ. This is our tester trip, so we are only going for one night, but it is going to be so much fun!!!

Graduation
It has been a long time coming, but I finally did it. I graduted from Pima Community College this week with an Associate in Business. I had planned to continue at the U of A this fall, but I changed my mind. I am going to relax a little and enjoy my family. In addition to my graduation, Cameron and Austin both graduated from 8th grade, and our friends Matt & Deann were married on Saturday ( I am very disappointed that I forgot my camera and I didn't get any pictures of the wedding ) Matt's parents were able to fly down to attend the graduation and wedding, and to spend some time with Parker.
It has been a very hectic year, but it is well worth it!!

When Mom and Dad are away, Parker will play
Kiara did it again.... Parker went to Aunt Kiara's house last week when Nana took the day off. Not only did we get a babysitter, we got some great pictures.
We have topped the 100 degree mark for the past few weeks so it is definitely time for some water fun. There were only 6 kids at daycare last week so my Mom let them play in the wading pool. I had a Dr. appt in the morning so they were just getting in the pool when I dropped Parker off. I stayed with him for a few minutes (he is just too cute) and then he stayed and played in the pool with Nana and his friends.
Kiara is starting photograpy as a career, so if anyone wants pictures send her an e-mail kjrago@msn.com.

A Few Firsts
Parker has had some fun firsts in the last week. First, he went swimming at the YMCA last weekend. They have a wonderful pool with a water mushroom, sprinklers, and a water slide. I was a little sad they wouldn't let Parker go down the water slide :) Parker didn't mind. He loves to be in the water and to play and splash.
Parker also tried oatmeal for the first time. If you check out the video at the bottom of the post you will see he didn't love his cereal. Turns out, we were just making it wrong. We are cooking real oats instead of using box cereal, so you actually have to cook it. You can only save oatmeal for a couple of days so you make 1/4 cup or less at a time for a baby. We made the first batch of oatmeal last Saturday. We followed the directions in the baby book. The oatmeal turned out very sticky and pasty. I thought it would turn creamy when I mixed it with milk, but that didn't happen. It was just like the oatmeal you and I eat, chunky in milk. PJ wasn't a big fan of chunky oatmeal.
I made a new batch yesterday, using a lot more water, and he LOVES it. He ate the whole bowl and wanted more!! Unfortunately, I think he ate to much because he was up way more than usual last night (poor mommy!!). He ate all his cereal again tonight. This weekend we are going to start on sweet potatos.
