He Walks!!!

We had some more exciting news this week. The newest members of our family, my sister-in-laws twins, have turned into TRIPLETS!!! They found a third baby during her 12 week ultrasound, there will be two identical babies and one fraternal baby. We are very excited to welcome the triplets into our family and wish the babies and Rachel a safe and easy pregnancy and birth. They are planning to birth the babies around 32 weeks, which will be mid-June.

A Day in the Life of a Crazy Kid!

Wow...what a day today!!! We started off by meeting Parker's twin, Peyton, at the park for a playdate. I call them twins because Peyton is only 4 days older than Parker, and although they do not look identical, they are both of norwigian decent and you can tell! Even though they are the same age, Peyton has been walking for a few months already. Peyton was cruising all over the place, but crawling didn't make Parker fall behind (Dad gives him 3 weeks to walk before he trades him in!!) Parker is a playground pro and crawls up the stairs, across the bridges, and hits the slides head first. He even goes down the big twisty slide head first! The boys had a lot of fun playing on the toys, in the sand, and sharing an afternoon snack.
Daddy had dinner ready when we got home and Parker didn't hesitate to start throwing his food on the floor. He is even throwing two handed now. He got a couple of good shots in hitting both me and the dogs before I took his tray away. As cute as it is, I am ready for this phase to be over with.
After dinner I took Parker upstairs for a bath. Parker LOVES his bathtime!!! I turned the water on to warm it up and then turned around to change my shirt when I hear a THUD!!! I looked over my shoulder to see Parker crawling in the tub, fully clothed diaper and all with the water still running. He has tried to lean over the tub to grab toys and has almost gone over head first, but this was the first time he crawled into the tub on his own.
Matt's Mom says that it used to take 2 people to change Matt's diaper, and I think he passed that down to his son. Parker thinks running away when I'm trying to change his diaper or clothes is hillarious. I have to hold his top half down with one hand and fasten the diaper with the other, or just let him take off naked. Naked is the easiest and usually wins. Parker did his naked runaway and stood at the gate at the top of the stairs trying to stick his legs through to get out. I wrangled him in his room for some naked baby storytime and eventually got him lubed up with lotion, diapered, and even pajamas on. Talk about a feat!!!
To top off the night Parker helped me make a dessert for a pot luck at work tomorrow. We are trying a new recipe called brownie cheesecake swirl. So far the batter has been very yummy!
Well, this is the end of a very long, very fun, very productive day. I wish all days could be like this.
Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite!!!

Let's Ring in the New Year!

2009 has gone by in a flash. So much has happened this year. We have had some sorrow and some joy. We began with the death of Albee and Sandy, rejoiced with the birth of Masen and Kailey in March, Zane in August, and Wyatt in October, and we end with the passing of Matt's Grandma Esther. We are starting 2010 off with a BANG... We are going to welcome a whole new barage of babies into the world this year. Little Henry Ennen will be here at the end of March, Baby Boy Sveum will be here in April, Matt's sister Rachel will be having TWINS in July, and we are now happily expecting our own new bundle of joy at the end of August or the beginning of September. Yes, this year is going to be a GOOD one! We wish you and your loved ones happiness and joy in the new year!

Happy 1st Birthday Parker James!

Our amazing little boy turned 1 year old on December 12th. We had a wonderful time celebrating with our family and friends. Here is a little bit of information about how Parker is growing up.
Weight: 25lb
Height: 31"
Shirt size: 2T - 3T
Pant size: 18mos
Shoe size: 3 - 4
He is in the 75% for height & weight and 95% for head.
Parker LOVES balls, any type of ball. He also likes to swim, swing, and slide. He can crawl like a champ but doesn't walk on his own. He likes to push his toys and to hold on to your hands and walk, but when he wants to stop walking he will most definitley let you know. Matt says that he can't walk because he has a big head with little feet and can't balance.
Parker is a talker. He will have a 30 minute conversation to himself with full hand gestures. Sometimes he gets so worked up I think he is swearing up a storm. He mimics everything you say, it may not sound exactly like our words but he trys his best. He can say Mama, Dada, Dog, up, down, touchdown (with motions), socks, shoe and much , much more. He can also sign eat, all done, and light. He loves to show off and get a reaction from us.
He is a lover with hugs and kisses all day long. He can be a mommy or daddy baby one minute and then play by himself for an hour the next. He is such a joy and a blessing. We are the happiest parents you could meet. Parker is such a great baby, we couldn't have asked for anything more! We love you sweet baby boy!
Happy Birthday Parker James!

Of all the toys he got, his ball was his favorite. He didn't want to open anymore presents after that!
Kiara took all the good pictures and I have been waiting to get copies from her to post, so I will update with her pics when I get them.
