Happy Halloween!!

Hope everyone has a great Halloween!! We are not doing anything special. Our plan is to hand out candy and watch a scarry movie. That's a treat for Matt since I really don't handle scarry movies well and don't watch them very often. Here are pics of our girls in their costumes.

Back to the Baby (Week 33)

So I look a little crabby, but it's just the sun in my eyes.

Week 33 Stats:

My Weight: 175lbs

Weight gain: 28lbs.

Baby's Weight: 4 1/2 lbs

Baby's length: 19 inches

Wow! Can you believe he is that big? The only reason I can is because I can feel him across my whole belly, all day, every day. He still has the hiccups pretty often, including right now. We had a mid-wife appointment yesterday and the baby is still head down. I know that he can move, but he seems to like it that way. Overall I still feel very good. I do get uncomfortable sometimes and that isn't fun. I have decided that if our furniture is uncomfortable now, it will not be comfortable to sit in when the baby is here so we will be shopping pretty soon. I think I want a rocking recliner for downstairs so that it will be easier to feed the baby and rock him to sleep.

In other aspects of life, I think I figured out what to do for school. The U of A has started a new satelite type of campus in Tucson that is geared toward working adults with families. The degree will be a Bachelor of Commerce. It is a combination of accounting, finance, and business. More of a conglomerate degree instead of one specialty. In order to get into the program I have to first finish my degree of business for transfer at Pima (in may). I am also going to see how long it would take for me to get either an associates in accounting at Pima or a certificate in accounting at Pima. Something to show that I do have a background in accounting. The program at U of A is pretty cool. It meets once a week from 4pm to 6 pm and is a 5 semester program. You move through the classes as a group so you will be with the same class the whole 5 semesters. It has the same accredidation as Eller college at U of A, and you still the the name on your diploma. I think this will work out much better for me and I am pretty excited about it.

Matt is still doing well. He really enjoys his job and is still working a lot of hours. His boss told him he is going to talk to him about the IT manager position this week so we are hoping for an update of some sort. Matt thinks that he is just going to confirm that the CFO talked to the VP and they are all on the same page for the 90 day trial, but we will have a definite date of when the trial started and when it will end.

And last but not least, an update on my Dad. His surgery went very well. He stayed in ICU until last night and then was transferred to a regular room. He is hopefully going to be release tomorrow, and my sister will be flying up to Wisconsin to be with him for the next few days. He is supposed to take it easy and not work for a while but I don't see that happening. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

I hope everyone has a great Halloween.

Brain Surgery... For real this time

My Dad used to get accupuncture in his ear and he would say he was of to have brain surgery. Maybe he shouldn't have been so flippant about it, cause he needs brain surgery for real this time. Dad was released from the hospital on Thursday and Grandma drove him the hour drive to his apartment in Sun Prairie. The ride was really hard on him, the spots in his eyes were changing colors and he was in a lot of pain. They called the doctor who said it was time to go back to the hospital. Since they were so far away, Dad decided to stay the night in Sun Prairie with his dog and return to the hosptial this morning, Friday October 24th. Once he was admitted to the hospital they did a catscan and got him in his room to rest. This afternoon they knocked him out and he had an MRI and an angiogram. Thank god he got back to the hosptial because they did find an aneurysm in his brain. To fix it they are going to put a stent in his brain. They do not do that surgery at Waukesha Memorial, so they are moving him to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee tonight to make sure that the aneurysm doesn't burst. Once he gets to the hospital they will schedule the surgery, hopefully for tomorrow. I am now back in Arizona so I am relaying what I heard from my Grandma. My sister is going to try to get to Wisconsin in the next few days to be with him. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts. Please keep them coming!!!!! I will update again after the surgery, and on Tuesday I will update on our latest appointment with the midwife and a new belly pic. Baby is getting big and so is Mom!!

Update on my Dad

My Dad went to the hospital on Thursday with a burst capillary in his brain. He is still in the hospital but should be fine. They did 2 catscans and I guess decided they didn't need to do surgery, that the bleeding should stop itself. His brain is still swollen and is causing a lot of pain. I am in Wisconsin. I am procrastinating getting ready right now, but once I get my lazy tush in the shower I will be heading to the hospital and I will spend the rest of the day there with him. He was hoping to be discharged today to rest at home, but I think he has realized that he is not ready and the doctors may actually know more than him. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.

Thoughts for my Dad

My Dad was taken to the hospital this morning with bleeding on his brain. It is from a leaking capillary, not an aneurysm, so that is the good news. They say he will be ok, but please send your prayers and positive thoughts to him.

My Prisoner of Love

Yesterday Matt and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary. Amazing isn't it? We had a wonderful day!! The Murder Mystery Dinner was a lot of fun. It was about a magician whose last 5 assistants all died under mysterious circumstances. He has 3 new assistants show up on the same night, all supposedly sent by the "agency". There is Marsha, Marsha, Marsha (the dorky quirky girl), Trix -Z (the drag queen tramp), and Inga (the beautiful sweede). Inga of course is killed. It turns out that Marsha is really Gertrude, a crazy girl that the Magician stood up in the 6th grade, and Trix-Z is really an old carnie that has been following the magic show around stalking the magician since she saw the show at the carnival. You had to figure out the murderer and the motive. I figured it out, but I won't give it away!!! Matt had the murderer, but not the motive. I told him, of course, and he turned in the right answer and was chosen as the winner. He was called up on stage for the grand prize, something that is of equal or lesser value than a trip to Maui, he won his very own detectives pipe and hat!!! Yeah!! They also do a special song and gift for birthdays and anniversary's. Birthday's got chocolate cake, while the guys who are celebrating anniversaries got a prisoner's cap for being a Prisoner of Love. The dinner itself wasn't spectacular, but the cheesecake was oh so yummy! Now, back to homework and housework. Only 10 weeks to go and school will be over... oh yeah, we'll have a baby then too!!

Can you belive it's already October?

Week 29 Stats:
My weight: 170
Weight gain: 23lbs
Baby's Weight: 3lbs
Baby's Length: 17 inches
Ok, I'm a little late. We will be 30 weeks on Saturday, but it's better late than never.
I want to say thank you to Susan and Kimberly who threw me an amazing baby shower last weekend. We received some wonderful gifts and had a lot of fun, they really did a great job. As you can see above, we received a cute little Green Bay set that may be the baby's coming home outfit if he/she is born on a Sunday. A lot of my friends from work were able to attend and it was great to be able socialize outside of work.
Now that October is here things are really picking up. We have begun our every 2 week prenatal appointments. Our discussion last Monday was pretty much an adult sex ed class, but next class we will pull out all the birthing toys and take a tour of the hospital. Only 4 or 5 classes left, depending on when the munchkin decides to arrive. I have had a lot of contractions, some of them consistant and painful, so I've been worried about pre-term labor. The mid-wife said the contractions are probably caused by the baby's movements since he/she is going non-stop. Everything looked fine when she did my belly check so that helped ease my mind. The baby was head down when we did the 4D ultrasound, and was still head down (way down) at our appt. Based on where I feel the hiccups, I think the baby stay's head down most of the time. It's hard to picture what is going in my belly knowing the baby is staying head down, cause I feel it move across my whole abdomen. The baby doesn't kick as much now, more just big movements. I can feel some feet or hands that found a space way over to my side occasionally, and when I lay on my side it feels like the baby is trying to walk on the bed through my skin.
Well, I guess that is all for now. Saturday is Matt & my 3rd wedding anniversary. We are going to celebrate by going to an interactive Murder Mystery dinner theater that I think should be a lot of fun. Hope you are all well!
